terrible puns [zoya has] used to title art papers
zoya:
“De Stijl My Heart”
“Brevity is the Sol Lewitt”
In case this wasn’t already abundantly clear, I fricking love puns.

How to Touch a Girl →
ste of The Triforce:
Favourite part:
With anything that’s on her face or hair that might be embarrassing (like a piece of food) you’ll need to decide whether or not to do this. Some girls will be mortified if you tell her she has a dead spider in her hair and offer to pick it off; others will find it humorous.
My favourite part is:
Remember contact with bare skin should...

I ended up on The New Yorker’s article about elevators via Sprint’s incredible Now dashboard.
I have actually seen something very similar before, although I can’t quite put my finger on the name or details right now, but this version is both more immersive and impressive.

“Wow. Best use of streaming live video EVER.”
Seeing as the only other use of streaming live video I’m aware of is for bored looking women in bikinis to try to persuade you to fork out money for real porn, I would have to say I agree emphatically with fascinated.
So far I have seen the puppies sleep (in a pile), eat, shout, and wrassle. It’s awesome!

– Ian Jenkins about the Starbucks free-coffee-for-votes thing
I am inclined to agree. Starbucks tastes more like a hot coffee-flavoured milkshake than coffee. Except that sounds kinda awesome, whereas Starbucks is just insipid.

Sweating the Details →
This is a great article about the decisions Matt Gemmel made whilst designing his iPhone speed-dial application, Favourites.
It really illustrates how wrong the people are that dismiss the iPhone for having less functionality than its competitors (such as my Nokia N95, which is indeed a very functional phone), and also the people that think that “design” is about how something...

I was just thinking about how Dean Kamen is a cool guy and I admire his work. I read a bit about his company Deka, which basically focuses on doing things that are very very hard. I then saw a bit about the Luke Arm project, building a mind-controlled prosthetic robot arm. I am now convinced that Deka is Stark Industries and Dean Kamen is Iron Man.
